Nearly 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, bringing wind gusts topping 109km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Impact
Homeowners reported large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair power throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews working to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Storm Challenges
At the same time, approximately 1,000 residents in the southern state also encountered energy failures after Melbourne recorded its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred calls for help across the area, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

- Hoppers Crossing area - multiple emergency calls
- Wyndham - nearly 180 calls for assistance
At the height on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were without power.
